Beloved Australian indie-folk artist Greg Allan has announced his solo return to Nighthawks. Supported by Lachie Ross and Ymi!
October 21st - 8:15pm
Lachie Ross: Primarily a bass player, Lachie Ross is switching the four strings out for six strings, combining acoustic and electric guitar. His debut solo gig will feature a mixture of acoustic and electric songs. The songs will be composed by a range of artists, creating a relaxed but engaging atmosphere, drawing sonic inspiration from Radiohead and The Smiths.
Ymi!: Ymi! is an optimistic and gentle yet confrontational artist based in Melbourne who performs original music in the vein of indie folk through to industrial dance rock. She is known for the whiplash between her devastating Nick Drake and Bon Iver inspired ballads and intoxicatingly danceable upbeat tunes. The set is amplified by Ymi!'s band of passionate and skilled composers, who blend her ethereal vocals with dark, brooding textures that tie together a diverse and engaging set.
Greg Allan: Greg Allan is an Australian indie-folk singer-songwriter based in Melbourne. He is known for his unique finger-style guitar playing, coupled with his distinctive, ethereal, dreamlike vocal delivery. His songwriting has often been described as 'sitting somewhere between Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, yet entirely new'. He is an artist you definitely will be hearing about again.
