The Modern History is a Melbourne indie rock band led by songwriter and guitarist Brendan Bostock.
For years Brendan wrote, recorded and gigged under the name Super Nudist, playing rooms across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. In 2024 he moved to Melbourne, brought the songs with him, and built a new band around them, with Michael on bass and Fabry on drums.
The set mixes Super Nudist favourites with new songs written for the three-piece. It’s guitar-driven and melodic, with big hooks and thought-provoking lyrics, and it carries the energy of all those warm nights spent playing South East Queensland venues.
The band is putting the live show first, building a following in Melbourne rooms before its first release under the new name.
Kiss and Tell are a 3-piece rock band formed in Melbourne/Naarm’s CBD. Consisting of members Ruth, Via and Lana. They combine melancholic grunge/post-punk riffs and lyrics with a high energy rock sound. Infusing elements of 1930s-1960s era music for an eerie twist. They are heavily inspired by VHS horror in their music, particularly the usage of older music to provide an unsettling nostalgic feel, and overall aesthetic. Their major influences include Nirvana, The Cure, Al Bowlly, The Beatles, Mitski, Queens of the Stone Age, Julie and many, many more. The band are currently breaking into their local scene and are working towards recording their first EP.
